He led the stacked field of cars for twenty-five laps until Tony Anglin and Richie Tosh passed him to battle each other for the lead. On lap thirty-three, Anglin, Tosh, and Berry went three wide coming out of turn four. Rocketman took over the lead and never looked back. Kyle led the remaining laps and captured the checkered flag to win the 2010 Firecracker 40 and the $5000 payday.

The first twenty laps of the race went smooth as Kyle held on to his position. As the laps remaining started to wind down, Kyle's tires began to peel away. He would slip back to a seventh place finish. |
JUNE 7, 2010 - THREE DAYS OF RACING IN BATESVILLE FOR KYLE! |
The racing weekend started early for the Kyle Berry racing team as they returned to Batesville Motor Speedway in Batesville, Arkansas for the conclusion of the TrackTek Street Stock race. The event that started in March was postponed for a later date due to inclement weather. With the Matt Sturch Memorial Street Stock race being held on Friday and Saturday, BMS decided it was best to run the TrackTek event on Thursday. Kyle was set for an eighteenth place start after qualifying in March and made a charge to the front late in the race. When the checkered flag dropped Kyle would earn himself a ninth place finish.
Rocketman stuck around for the following nights of racing. The Matt Sturch Memorial presented a $5000 payday to the winner of the Street Stock event. Kyle fell one car short of a transfer shot into the feature as he took third in his heat. The b-mains were held on Saturday night, in which Kyle dominated. He snagged the lead and carried it all the way to the finish to earn him seventeenth in the main event. MAY 1, 2010 - KYLE MAKES STELLAR RUN AT PIR! |
Kyle Berry Motorsports returned to action this weekend in the "Strokin" GRT Crate Late Model. They made their first appearance of the year at Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, Kentucky. In recent weeks, the #00 car has given the team lots of trouble and hard luck. They were determined to redeem themselves this weekend.
Kyle took the green in the heat, leading several laps until the motor started to miss. A few more hiccups would send him back to third just barely making the transfer into the feature. After working tediously on the car in the pits, Rocketman readied himself for an eight place start in the main. He was definitely on a rail as he took down three cars within the first five laps. With only three laps to go in the race, Kyle battled side by side with the leaders. When the checkered flag dropped and the dust settled, he would emerge with a second place finish just behind Scott Weber. |

APRIL 12, 2010 - FIRST WIN OF THE SEASON FOR ROCKETMAN! |
Kyle ventured back to the Malden Speedway this past weekend to race in the late model and hobby divisions. Car counts were low to races happening at other tracks in the area.
Kyle picked up a fast win in the second heat as he checked out from the rest of the field. He was awarded with a front row start in the feature. Kyle quickly got past the leader at the drop of the green flag and never looked back. He pulled away from the field and started to catch a group of lap cars. Kyle was fortunate enough to see the checkered flag before he had to do any more passing, picking up his first win of the season.
Kyle passed four cars in the hobby heat for a fifth place finish. Given the fifth starting spot in the feature, Rocketman couldn't find any passing room as the track turned into one groove. He would cross the line in the fifth position.
Kyle celebrated his victory by attending Round 6 of the NeSmith Nationals at the Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, Mississippi the following night. He was the only driver there representing the Show-Me State. The fifty-lap main event paid $2,600 to the winner. APRIL 5, 2010 - KYLE SCORES THREE TOP FIVE FINISHES AT MALDEN! |
On March 20, Kyle was in Batesville, Arkansas for the Street Stock Special. The races were called due to rain, so Kyle and the crew loaded up and headed out at 8 pm on their way to the Malden Speedway for the finale of the Bootheel 200. Fortunately for him, his class ran last that night.
Kyle was thirty miles outside of Malden when he ran out of gas and had to pull to the side of the road. Luckily, there was an extra gallon of gas in the back of the truck. Knowing they would be short on time once they got to the track, Kyle's brother, Craig, jumped in the trailer where he rode the remainder of the way working on the car. You talk about dedication when someone is laying on their back in a trailer trying to change a gear while being pulled through bumpy and winding roads.
They got to the track with only minutes to spare. Kyle had to start twelfth, but found himself in the fourth position when he crossed the checkered flag.
Two weeks later, Kyle returned to the track in the same car alongside his familiar late model. After taking a second place finish in the heat, he would start fourth in the hobby feature. Kyle gave it his all to find a way around the leader, but eventually had to settle for second.
Kyle gained a spot in the late model heat to finish fourth, which put him twelfth in the twenty-car feature. Rocketman blasted his way to the front. He made the most progress during the race as he bested seven other drivers to leave the 3/8 oval with a solid fifth place finish. |

After starting eighth in the street feature, Kyle was able to blast his way into a third place finish. He also came close to winning the hobby a-main, finishing second close behind the leader. Team Berry returned the following night with the same cars. Unfortunately, he was unable to work his late model around the track, as he had to pull off prior to the finish. Kyle had some better luck in the other cars, taking home second in the street class and fourth in hobby. |
SEPTEMBER 25 & 26, 2009 - FAST TIME ALONG WITH TROUBLES AT BATESVILLE! |

Another trip to Malden seen him easily blasting the competition to take the win in the first heat. After starting the feature on the pole, the lead would change hands for a few laps until Billy James took over the lead. Without any cautions, the leaders soon found themselves upon lapped traffic. As Billy had to let up on the gas to avoid the cars, Kyle saw this as his only chance to win the race. However, his luck ran short, as the leader struck the wall on the backstretch to bring out the caution for debris. Kyle was forced too accept a second place finish. He was at Clayhill Motorsports in Atwood, TN the following night. Kyle took home a third place finish in the hobby class. |
AUGUST 7 & 8, 2009 - WIN NUMBER FOURTEEN FOR KYLE! |
Kyle accepted the challenge to race with the MSRA Super Late Models at the Malden Speedway this past Friday.
